A federal judge has denied a motion for sanctions a former Elliott Greenleaf partner filed against the firm for alleging in a complaint that he misused escrow funds.

William R. Balaban, now at Stevens & Lee, had filed earlier this month a motion requesting paragraphs in the firm’s complaint against him related to his alleged misuse of escrow funds be stricken from the complaint. The former Harrisburg office managing partner of Elliott Greenleaf said in his Rule 11 motion for sanctions against the firm and its chairman, John M. Elliott, that Elliott knew the allegations against Balaban were “blatantly false.”
