How much time is wasted searching for missing pieces of paper? More than most of us would like to admit, I bet. Think of how much time we now spend readily finding things online compared to how much time the same task had taken years ago when it also required a trip to the local library. While I still prefer to read my paper editions of The Legal and the Philadelphia Bar Reporter , I relish not having to store them now that they are easily accessible online.
Like it or not, the time has come to take things a step further and at least consider digitizing your firm’s case files and management records. The good news is that this task does not necessarily require outside assistance, depending on volume, and is more cost effective than prohibitive.
