The state Supreme Court has directed the Superior Court to address whether orders from the supervising judges of a grand jury regarding an alleged leak can be admitted as evidence by the plaintiffs in their defamation suit against a Scranton newspaper that reported on the grand jury testimony.
The Supreme Court has already made other findings in the case Castellani v. The Scranton Times, ruling in 2008 that the paper did not have to give up the name of its source who reported on the testimony and demeanor of plaintiffs Randall A. Castellani and Joseph J. Corcoran in a grand jury investigation.
