In ruling on a number of preliminary objections in the First Judicial District’s lawsuit against Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel and a former partner related to the construction of a new family courthouse in Philadelphia, the judge said the defendants did not show enough evidence that they informed Pennsylvania’s chief justice of the dual roles the partner was playing in the deal.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Court Senior Judge R. Stanton Wettick Jr., brought in to oversee the Philadelphia case First Judicial District v. Rotwitt , found defendants Obermayer Rebmann, former partner Jeffrey Rotwitt and his real estate company Deilwydd Property Group FC LLC could not succeed on their preliminary objections to the First Judicial District’s fraud, conspiracy and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
