Pennsylvania’s new Child Custody Act has been the topic of much debate, and, until recently, its application the topic of much speculation. The act mandates what trial courts across the Commonwealth must consider in making child custody determinations, perhaps to promote some consistency among the counties.
In the past two months, the Superior Court has handed down the first two reported decisions applying the act, and the message to judges is clear: Follow the act to the letter or get reversed.
