Cases rarely get more high profile than Jones v. Halliburton Co., a lawsuit brought by a former employee of engineering and military contractor KBR Inc. who alleged that she was raped by co-workers in Iraq in 2005. Jamie Leigh Jones sought more than $145 million in damages. The case drew heavy news coverage and the attention of a number of members of Congress.

During a nearly four-week trial in 2011, the defense team, led by Porter Hedges partner Joanne Vorpahl, argued that Jones had engaged in consensual sex and lied about it in order to get out of her contract with KBR.
