A former municipal judge lost his appeal from a DWI conviction on Wednesday as the Appellate Division found his sustained episode of burping at the police station was a deliberate attempt to avoid taking an Alcotest.

The court in State v. Korpita, A-3847-09, upheld George Korpita’s convictions for driving while intoxicated, refusing to submit to breath tests and failing to keep right, leaving in place a four-year driver’s license suspension.
