Australian firm Gadens has hired Renae Suttor as a banking and finance partner from MinterEllison in Sydney.
Suttor, who was a senior associate at MinterEllison, specializes in real estate development and investment finance origination and restructuring, particularly in the real estate, hotels and hospitality sectors. She joins Gadens after two stints at MinterEllison, from 2017 to 2019 and 2002 to 2005. In between the MinterEllison stints, Suttor practiced at Clifford Chance in London for 11 years.
Suttor said in a statement that as a property finance specialist, she was attracted to Gadens’ strength in the real estate and construction sectors, as well as its national banking practice.
With the addition of Suttor, Gadens has 13 partners in Sydney, focusing on banking and finance, corporate, construction and property. The current Sydney office was relaunched in late 2017 after hiring lawyers from DLA Piper and legacy Henry Davis York.
Gadens’ legacy Sydney office merged into global legal giant Dentons in 2016, along with its legacy offices in Perth and Papua New Guinea’s Port Moresby.
