Stephenson Harwood’s Singapore alliance firm Virtus Law has hired corporate partner Parikhit Sarma.

Sarma specializes in capital markets and M&A deals in Singapore and India. In 2015, he was part of a team that advised Indian software services provider Infosys Ltd. on its $120 million acquisition of San Francisco-based digital solutions provider Kallidus Inc.

He comes aboard from Morgan Lewis Stamford, the Singapore affiliate of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he was an associate and deputy head of the firm’s India group. Before that, Sarma was an associate director at Duane Morris & Selvam, the joint law venture between Philadelphia-based Duane Morris and Singapore’s Selvam.

London-based Stephenson Harwood established a formal law alliance with its Singapore partner firm Virtus Law in 2014. Virtus Law and Stephenson Harwood’s Singapore office have a combined head count of 17 partners.

Last year, Stephenson Harwood also recruited international arbitration partner Timothy Cooke from Morgan Lewis Stamford in Singapore.
