Dutch and Belgian firms are feeling cautiously optimistic about the next 12 months, expecting M&A activity to pick up while also fearing the impact of the incoming U.S. administration and an emboldened Russia.

Van Bael & Bellis, an independent Belgian firm that focuses on EU competition law, trade and M&A, expects 2025 to bring continued growth both in revenue and profitability. Managing partner Andreas Reindl noted that developments in the firm’s three core areas would lead to increased demand for its services from clients.
