Bird & Bird has hired capital markets partner David Cheng from Winston & Strawn, which announced last year that it would be winding down its Hong Kong practice in this month.
Cheng advises on initial public offerings, spinoffs, reverse takeovers and privatizations. He acts for underwriters, placing agents and issuers. Last year, he represented Good Pride Ltd. as lender of a debt facility to StormHarbour Securities (Hong Kong) Ltd. He also advised Hong Kong-listed Meilleure Health International Industry Group Ltd. on the acquisition of three properties in mainland China.
