Big Four Japanese firm Nishimura & Asahi has been hired by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and its alliance partner Morgan Stanley Securities to defend it against 66 investors who are claiming compensation for having lost tens of millions after buying Credit Suisse’s additional tier 1 (AT1) bonds from the broker.

The $36 million lawsuit was filed in August by Taiju Yamazaki, the founding partner of Yamazaki Marunouchi Law Office and a former lawyer at Bank of America Securities, as well as at another Big Four firm, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune.
