A former assistant deputy minister with Canada’s federal Department of Finance is rejoining Borden Ladner Gervais as senior counsel with its corporate and capital markets group.

Kent Howie was a partner at BLG, Canada’s biggest law firm before joining the government in 2020, first as a senior adviser to the deputy minister and for the past two years as assistant deputy minister, Crown Investment and Asset Management, where he headed the corporate finance branch providing public policy and investment advice to the government.
