A businessman associated with Roman Abramovich has failed in his legal effort to overturn sanctions imposed on him by the U.K. government following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Eugene Shvidler, a businessman in the oil industry, was placed on the U.K. sanctions list in March 2022. He launched legal action earlier this year in London against the sanctions placed on him, which included the seizure of two private aircraft.
