“ChatGPT is the most remarkable system I’ve seen in over 40 years of working on AI,” Dr Richard Susskind said on the day of his book launch for the third edition of Tomorrow’s Lawyers.
Three decades before Allen & Overy would launch its AI platform Harvey, Susskind was penning Essays on Law and Artificial Intelligence. Subsequently, he co-developed the world’s first commercial AI system for lawyers, released in 1988; co-authored The Future of the Professions: How Technology Will Transform the Work of Human Experts with his son, Daniel Susskind, in 2015; and last year earned an Honorary KC for his promotion of technology and innovation.
