DLA Piper has stepped in to guide U.K. airline Flybe through its latest administration, as the Birmingham-headquartered company ceases trading. It is the second administration process for struggling airline Flybe. The latest process is being undertaken by administrators Interpath, which confirmed in a statement on January 28 that the vast majority of the airline’s 321 employees would be made redundant with immediate effect, while a skeleton staff team would be retained to assist with the administration process, as well as any possible future sales.

DLA Piper has fielded a team headed by restructuring partner Neil Riley and aviation partner Mark Franklin, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, working alongside Interpath. Flybe, which first entered administration in 2020, was then relaunched by new owners Thyme Opco, an affiliate of American hedge fund Cyrus Capital Partners in 2021, with operations commencing in April 2022.
