Aviva has slashed its U.K. defendant legal panel from nine to four, in the U.K. insurer’s first review of the group in a decade.

The FTSE 100 insurer has undertaken a strategic review of the panel, which covers claims legal work on all of Aviva’s U.K. general insurance legal requirements within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and wider global needs where required, according to a statement on Monday. According to a spokesperson, it is the first review undertaken of the panel in 10 years.
