The best features I’ve ever written are the ones where I’m under significant time pressure. That’s because I have a bad habit: When allowed time, I tend to read and re-read my pieces over and over and agonize unnecessarily about what’s in there, what’s not and what should be. I often have to remind myself that I need to trust my knowledge and instincts and let the words flow.

But one thing is constant. With all the articles I write, I go through every paragraph and statement and ask myself, “Is this true? Is this a fact? Are these fair comments? Is this a balanced article?”
