Baker McKenzie has hired leading virtual assets and investment funds specialist Joy Lam as a registered foreign lawyer with a partner equivalent status in Hong Kong, bolstering its financial services offering.
Lam, who was a partner at Sidley Austin before joining Baker McKenzie, has acted on several groundbreaking virtual assets transactions, including advising on Asia’s first open-ended tokenized fund, Asia’s first close-ended tokenized fund and securing the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission’s first approval for a virtual assets fund that permits subscriptions and redemptions to be effected in cryptocurrency.
