Hackers interrupted a video press conference Tuesday with the Canadian lawyers who successfully sued the Iranian government over the downing of a Ukrainian airliner near Tehran two years ago.

The Ontario Superior Court had on Dec. 31 awarded C$107 million, including $100 million in punitive damages, to the families of six people who died when Ukraine Airlines Flight PS752 was shot down on Jan. 8, 2020. Justice Edward Belobaba had in May 2021 concluded that the Islamic Republic of Iran was civilly liable for shooting down the plane in an act of terrorism.
