The Solicitors Regulation Authority is looking to overhaul its fining power when it comes to tackling misconduct in the legal industry.
The regulatory body is considering hitting law firms found to have committed “serious” misconduct with fines of up to 5% of their turnover, in its first significant shake-up of financial penalties in a decade.
