The president of the Law Society of England & Wales, I. Stephanie Boyce, has called on law firms to stop treating diversity challenges as box-ticking or PR exercises, after concerns were raised by many about tokenism in the U.K. commercial legal industry. International’s investigation told the story of a variety of Black or minority ethnic lawyers whose images and names had been readily used by firms in client pitches and promotional materials, but who had then been sidelined when the work was allocated.
