Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has added Morrison & Foerster privacy partner Christine Lyon to its Silicon Valley office, which opened last July, as data breaches and ransomware attacks continue to plague businesses throughout the year.

Lyon, who first joined Morrison & Foerster in 1999, will co-head Freshfields’ data privacy and security practice alongside U.K.-based Giles Pratt and Germany-based Norbert Nolte. She works with companies to craft data privacy policies and infrastructure in the transactional space, while also representing clients in litigation and government investigations that may arise from a breach.
