The Republic of Ecuador has signed back on to the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States following a hiatus of more than a decade from the World Bank’s arbitration venue.
Ecuador withdrew from the ICSID Convention in July 2009 after being hit with more than a dozen claims, mostly from energy companies, in less than a decade. One of those arbitration cases only recently concluded.
