Singapore now ties with London as the place most favored by global businesses to arbitrate, according to a study published on Thursday by White & Case in partnership with Queen Mary University of London.

The international arbitration survey found rising popularity worldwide of Asian disputes hubs such as Singapore and Hong Kong. Singapore, for the first time, shares the top position with London, with 54% of the respondents identifying it as one of the five most preferred seats of international arbitration. The city-state’s popularity grew significantly from being selected by 39% of the respondents the last time such a ranking was done in 2018, when it was placed at third place after London and Paris.
