From capital markets transactions to labor matters, lawyers in Brazil have been slammed with work as the South American country struggles to contain a highly contagious new variant of COVID-19.
Brazil has consistently made headlines for having one of the highest death tolls in the world from the new coronavirus. Earlier this month it saw its deadliest day since the start of the pandemic, recording 4,249 deaths caused by COVID-19 in a 24-hour period. The business hub of São Paulo has been hit especially hard.
