Litigation spiked this past year. Bribery, corruption, data privacy and, unsurprisingly, COVID-related issues, such as business interruptions, dominated the legal landscape, according to in-house leaders and compliance officers in the United States and Europe surveyed by a global New York-based consulting firm.

Andrew Teig, a managing director at Major Lindsey & Africa, which was not involved in the survey, concurs with the survey’s findings. He said he’s seen a significant increase in demand for legal work virtually across the board.
