Morrison & Foerster saw nearly flat revenue accompanied by a double-digit profit increase in 2020, as work for major client SoftBank stayed strong but litigation struggled “with one hand tied behind its back.”

For the fourth year in a row, revenue at the firm exceeded $1 billion, growing 1.6%, from $1.15 billion to $1.17 billion. Following an increase in head count, revenue per lawyer fell 0.4%, from $1.141 million to $1.137 million. Profits per equity partner increased 9.4%, from $2.048 million to $2.24 million.
