Ropes & Gray’s new European life sciences lead Lincoln Tsang did not have a typical route into law. His initial career was in pharmacy, during which time he spent nearly 13 years at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

Earlier in March, he left Arnold & Porter after over 18 years as partner to join Ropes to launch its European life sciences regulatory practice. Here, he discusses his unusual career path, including why he made the move into law and how his pharmaceutical experience informs his legal practice — particularly during the pandemic.
