A paralegal in Hong Kong is facing up to life imprisonment after being charged with violating the city’s new national security law.
Chan Tze-wah, 29, was charged on Wednesday with “conspiring to collude with foreign forces” in violation of the national security law, as well as assisting offenders in violation of the city’s Criminal Procedure Ordinance. His application for bail was rejected, and he will remain in custody until trial in April.
