For several years whenever asked about the firm’s private equity strategy Slaughter and May partners would mention the name Murray Cox. He was viewed as one of the firm’s bright private equity stars, helping to build a practice that would measure up to the firm’s elite M&A offering.
So his shock departure to Weil Gotshal & Manges last week raised eyebrows at private equity teams across the U.K.
