Ibero-Latin American law firm Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uria has put the brakes—for now—on plans to expand into Mexico, the only country in the Pacific Alliance trade bloc not represented in the firm.

At this time last year, PPU Legal, as the firm is called, was in advanced talks to integrate a Mexican firm, having discussed that possibility with prospects including Sánchez Devanny, a full-service firm with more than 70 attorneys.
