Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has reached an out of court settlement with the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s office in the latest development in a long-running tax scandal.
The firm has made a voluntary payment of €10 million and will no longer be a concerned party in proceedings which relate to tax opinions given by two former partners to Maple Bank, prior to its collapse in 2016.
