Herbert Smith Freehills is advising the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources on a comprehensive set of regulations and guidelines to support the recently promulgated New Mining Investment Law which came into effect this month.
The firm also counselled on the establishment of a national geological database, application procedures for obtaining exploration, mining and related licences, aspects of mining-associated environmental remediation, pollution, financial incentives for investors, dispute resolution and mine closure.
