Slaughter and May partners have decided against discussing any changes to its lockstep system after the topic was raised due to similar steps being taken at rival law firms.

Partners at the elite U.K. firm told Law.com International that recent talks of changing lockstep structures at other firms, such as Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, had raised a question internally as to whether the firm should also discuss potential changes to its own lockstep system.
