Simmons & Simmons has upped its trainee and newly qualified (NQ) salaries, joining a string of firms taking similar steps towards regaining varying levels of financial normalcy.

Following a delayed review, London NQs at the firm will now earn £84,000, while Bristol rates are now at £53,500, the firm confirmed on Monday. In July, the firm pushed back its NQ pay decision but committed to either increasing NQ pay or holding it at 2019’s boosted rate of £79,000.
