Less than a month after announcing firmwide staff layoffs, Baker Botts is pulling back on other expense cuts for the second time and providing bonuses to some non-partners, citing good financial performance.

It makes for yet another large firm that has eliminated certain jobs due to changes in the law firm business model, even though their finances are in decent shape—Baker Botts cited a “fundamental workplace shift” with regard to the layoffs. The employees who were let go were office services and secretarial services staff.
