Workplace bullying and intimidation is rife at the Bar, according to a damming YouGov study that says such behaviour is often tolerated due to the adversarial, male dominated culture of the profession.
The assessment of barristers in England and Wales found some believe the ability to dominate over other people in order to win an argument is crucial, meaning “bullying and intimidation are rife, and often seem like part of everyday life at the Bar”.
