A French appeals court has ordered that Google must negotiate in good faith with news publishers over compensation for using their content online.
Upholding an April ruling by France’s competition authority, the Paris Court of Appeal instructed Google to pursue talks with publishers’ groups to find an agreement under France’s “neighboring rights” law.
