Herbert Smith Freehills has underpaid some of its law graduates in Australia by as much as A$20,000 (US$14,000), an investigation by the firm found.

HSF said it recently reviewed the remuneration of the staff covered by the Legal Services Award, an industrial agreement that guarantees a minimum hourly wage, and found some underpayments of over A$20,000, although most were less than A$5,000.
