The counsel for Baker McKenzie has criticised the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for using “unfounded” and “misconceived” arguments in its case against the firm’s former London head, Gary Senior.

As the firm launched its defence against allegations of mishandling the matter, its counsel Patricia Robertson QC accused the SRA of “moving the goalpost” and seeking to “make opportunistic use” of points volunteered by the firm throughout the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal’s (SDT) hearing.
