Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer was investigated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for failing to report sexual misconduct allegations against former partner Ryan Beckwith to the regulator, according to two people with detailed knowledge of the matter.

The revelation follows the nine-day Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) hearing into claims of sexual misconduct against Beckwith, who was fined £35,000 and ordered to pay costs of £200,000 earlier this month for breaching SRA principles concerning integrity and maintaining public trust.
