The investment entity that is parent to Brazil’s largest meat and poultry producer has dropped a 2018 malpractice suit against Baker McKenzie alleging that the firm’s local affiliate jeopardised a client’s $2.75 billion settlement connected to the Operation Carwash corruption scandal.

J&F Investimentos said in a filing on Wednesday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia that it was dismissing its complaint against Baker McKenzie and Brazilian affiliate Trench Rossi e Watanabe with prejudice.
