A string of firms including Mayer Brown, Debevoise and King & Spalding have moved into Japan in recent years on the back of a wave of outbound projects and M&A deals

After a long hiatus, Tokyo is back on the radar of global law firms.
Several international firms have opened offices in Japan in the past few years - most recently Mayer Brown, which launched its office earlier this year. Debevoise & Plimpton’s Tokyo office opened last year, and King & Spalding, Withers and offshore firm Harneys all opened Tokyo bases in 2015.
