Integreon is to start offering legal process outsourcing (LPO) in its London office, with the move the company's second into LPO in the UK so far this year.

The company has space for 100 people to carry out LPO work in its existing London office. It will initially launch with a 65-strong team, adding to the existing back office support Integreon offers from London.

The move comes in response to increasing regulation around discovery costs set to come into effect from April 2013 as part of the new rules on disclosure included in the Jackson reforms. It also reflects the outsourcer's intention to gain new clients attracted to a London LPO centre.

In January this year Integreon launched an LPO base in Bristol at the request of key client Microsoft, with half a dozen lawyers and paralegals. The base has now grown to around 30 legal staff operating in multiple European and Asian languages.

Integreon president of business development and client relationship management John Croft said: "Some clients are unable to send work offshore for regulatory reasons and others do not want to send work offshore because they want to meet face-to-face with the lawyers doing the work.

"We responded to this need earlier in the year with our Bristol LPO centre, but we have decided that it would also be helpful to have an LPO centre in London for more immediate needs and to act as a starting point for some new clients that want to work with us but are new to outsourcing."

Integreon's client base includes Allen & Overy, CMS Cameron McKenna, Simmons & Simmons, Microsoft and several FTSE 100 companies.

The outsourcer shares the same London offices as CMS at Mitre House, although the document review centre is not associated with CMS, and the the centre is run solely by Integreon.
