Following an amendment to the mutual funds law in the Cayman Islands, master funds established in the jurisdiction are now regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Conyers Dill’s Gene DaCosta explains

The master-feeder fund structure is popular for drawing in investments from different jurisdictions and consolidating them in one central platform. Particularly useful at adapting to country-specific regulations, master-feeders are flexible and efficient vehicles for raising financing from a cross-border investor base.
