A raft of law firms including Norton Rose and Eversheds have secured roles advising on a landmark £100bn offshore wind farm project that could meet up to a quarter of the UK’s electricity demand.

The deal sees Norton Rose advising the Crown Estate as the owner of the seabed around the UK on which the wind turbines will be developed. The Crown Estate today (8 January) awarded licences to cover nine wind farm zones, which between them will deliver up to 25 gigawatts of power around the UK by 2020.
