Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has appointed a new managing partner for its heavyweight Paris arm, as the US firm moves to bed down its French practice after this month’s merger with local M&A leader Rambaud Martel.

The 800-lawyer San Francisco-based firm is to appoint tax partner Stephane Salou to succeed Raphaele Courtier as managing partner of the office, which will boast 100 local lawyers after the merger goes live on 1 January.
