With the benefit of having experienced both London and Bristol as a student and having had friends joining firms as trainee solicitors and legal executives in the two cities, I decided that Bristol was the place I wanted to pursue my career.
From a lifestyle point of view, I knew what to expect of Bristol: a very likeable and fun city. But from a professional perspective, it struck me that Bristol has as much to offer young professionals as London firms and arguably a more rounded and involved training experience, including autonomy with matters, client contact and participation in business development at a level that you do not get in larger London firms.
