Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Calyon and Morgan Stanley as lead arrangers and underwriters of a €7.9bn (£5.3bn) debt facility for Suez, to part-fund its €11bn (£7.4bn) bid for a 49.9% minority stake in Belgian utility group Electrabel. Banking partner Presley Warner led the Freshfields team. Linklaters corporate partner Marc Loy and finance partners Philippe Herbelin and Tom O’Neill advised the borrower.

Ashurst has acted for debt provider Royal Bank of Scotland on the £157.3m senior and second lien facilities and the £23.9m of mezzanine debt to finance the secondary buy-out by Bridgepoint Capital of telecare companies Tunstall and Attendo.
